Recognising excellence, valuing the work of producers and strengthening the position of extra virgin olive oil in national and international markets. This is the commitment that, over 16 editions, has guided the International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition - Ovibeja CA Award, promoting quality, knowledge and the development of a sector that brings together tradition, innovation and the future.

Now in its 16th edition, the competition continues to be a leading international reference for excellence in extra virgin olive oil, bringing together producers from different countries and showcasing the very best of what is produced in Portugal and around the world.

Organised by ACOS - Associação de Agricultores do Sul, with the support of Casa do Azeite - Associação do Azeite de Portugal and the exclusive sponsorship of Crédito Agrícola, the competition recognises high-quality olive oils, assessed by an international jury chaired by José Gouveia, an internationally recognised olive oil expert.

Open to individual producers, producer associations, cooperatives and packers, from Portugal and abroad, the competition has five categories: Robust Green Fruitiness, Medium Green Fruitiness, Delicate Green Fruitiness, Ripe Fruitiness, and Olive Oils from the Southern Hemisphere.

Beyond awarding prizes, we want to recognise the work, knowledge and dedication of those who make quality a priority.

Because valuing olive oil also means valuing its producers, the regions where it is produced and a sector in constant evolution, one that invests in innovation and strives to meet the challenges of the market.

Because the future of olive oil is built on knowledge, dedication and an ongoing commitment to quality.
